Tattooed and tooled leather art
I like it!!
Love it really awesome
I don't know which is more amazing: the idea of a 3d tattooed leather artwork, or the artwork itself. As I like to say the idea of beauty today is the beauty of an idea. This work is both beauty and idea! Thanks for showing me something new!
Thats a lovely comment, thanks ever so... really appreciate you taking the time and liking my stuff, cheers
very nice!! but pardon my curiosity, what does it mean "tattooed" leather??
aw thanks ! all my stuff is made from leather...... i use a tattoo gun to illustrate onto it, cutting into the leather .... its not printed (which is often the case with tattoo 'style' things)
Men, amazing Skull is amazing. Really loved the details on that skull, specially the teeths and the aveolar process (Oh hell, not sure if that's the correct term I just checked it on google, english is not my thing)
I'll love to buy one off you, if I have the money for it lol.
Amazing I really appreciate art that looks amazing like this! Jus wow
Refreshing. I love drawing skulls and this is a great new take on how to present one.
really incredible work... never occurred to me to tattoo leather!
Did you know that visible within the sockets of the skull there is a bat shaped bone? It's called the sphenoid, I'm studying to be a nurse and that's something I just thought was cool Awesome job!!
gosh no i didn't! i will look it up! it was intentional but thanks for the spot! good luck with the nursing, wonderful profession
Beautiful work! Just so I'm understanding, you used an actual tattoo machine to do the ink? Does it work any different than living skin (besides all the complaining and blood)?
ah thanks, yes all done with mostly one needle in a regular machine with same ink.... its totally different .... it a little too hard to explain as each one if different depending on the the leather denseness, i do each one to suit and never use the same settings twice/ with leather you get lots of needle bounces and jumps as it bounce back off the leather/breaks/drag/hard to 'cut through' / ink bleeds out/ hard to get a smooth line/ also makes a mess of your leather when spraying/smudging so have ruined lots of work at the last stage... needs lots of patience, going through skin is much much smoother in comparison (in my limited experience)
the eyes... they remind me of the comic Johnny the maniac but also they give this piece such character i've never seen before in skull tattoos. very beautiful.
ah, thanks... havent heard of that so will take a look
Amazing! Congrats on the DD!
Amazing - congrats on the DD
Finding it hard to keep up with the 'thanks' for the brilliant comments (#astounded!), so apologies if i don't say thanks individually -straight away. So chuffed you like it, so a major thanks to one and all. Have a look at my other stuff or i have a website www.puncturedartefact.com
